How do you tell if that adorable baby smiling at you from their mother’s arms is a boy or a girl?
It’s not their cute little dimples or their lovely locks.
Most the time it’s the colour of their clothes.
Pink is for girls. Blue is for boys.
What happened to the rest of the rainbow? It’s very difficult to find anything for baby girls that doesn’t have at least a little pink or purple, a princess or some sparkles.
With J, boys’ clothing very quickly becomes shades of muted tones and the bright, bubbly designs are filed away by toddlerdom.
So I am always keen to find clothing that is more gender neutral – and by that I don’t mean beige and boring!
Gecko is a small, family company and their designs are bright, fun and funky.
The woodland creature dungarees that we tried out are adorable. We love the country inspired design.
They are made of thick fairtrade cotton which is lovely and soft on the inside but also feels very hardwearing– which is important now baby A is working on her crawling skills!
They have poppers for easy nappy access and on the shoulders which makes is much easier to get them on and off.
We also love their eco-friendly and ethical outlook which is reflected in some small quirky details.
Each outfit comes with a plantable tag made of wild seed paper. This is such a great way of getting children involved and excited about nature and opening up the conversation about preserving the environment.
You can win a pair of dungarees – available up to age 2-3 – by entering below.
