Cancer Care Package For Men

What do you get a man who has cancer? That might sound like the start of a bad joke but it’s something that is genuinely hard to answer. Men can be difficult to buy gifts for anyway, and when people want to reach out and offer a token of support after a cancer diagnosis or during treatment, it can be particularly hard to know what to get.

I love a care package and have sent and received many over the years, but most of them are targeted at women. So I was really happy to see this Deluxe Cancer Care Gift Package For Men from Cancer Care Parcel and give Mr C the same experience.

I really liked the simplicity of the packaging and the clarity of the message. I know it can be really difficult for people to know what to say and this box does it for you. As Mr C unpacked it, I could see it had been thoughfully put together with a great mix of practical and pampering gifts. It was clear that this was something designed by people who had been through cancer and understood what that meant.

It had a great balance of things you need, things you want, and things that are just nice to have – a winning combination!

The Basics

A water bottle, sickness bands, tissues, hand sanitiser, neck pillow and lip balm covered some of the basic needs. I think it was great to include these things as when you are dealing with cancer, the basics can just be another thing on the list to think about. Hand warmers were a nice touch as lots of people suffer sore or cold hands during treatment and an eye mask is a great for soothing tired skin.

The practical

We know from multiple hopsital trips with the kids, that a phone charger is an essential. So it was great to include a portable charger in the parcel, along with a USB light that could be powered by it. There were also headphones and a lovely LED light that would brighten up a stark hospital bedside table. The digitial thermometer was a great practical gift as many people have to monitor their temperature during treatment and the ginger tea can help manage sickness.

The Pampering

It’s not just women that need some pampering, and the face cream and moisturiser were both a great choice for any man. Many people going through treatment will have sensitive, dry skin so the E45 was a good addition along with the peppermint tea for upset stomachs. I loved the colouring book and pencils as a quirky gift but also good for destressing and passing the time. Finally, the plush blanket you can see in all these shots was a luxurious choice and would add some comfort to anyone feeling unwell.

Our Verdict

At £149.99, this care parcel is not a cheap gift but would be the ideal thing for friends or colleagues to buy together. There’s even a way on the website that people can easily all pay separately! It’s touches that like that show me the people behind Cancer Care Parcel have really thought hard about these packages, the reality of having cancer and making it easy for everyone involved.

There are 19 different parcels for men, women and children, as well as for patients at different stages of treatment. I have already recommended them to my local Maggie’s Centre and wouldn’t hesitate to order one for someone else.

Disclosure: We were sent a complimentary parcel in return for our honest opinion. All images and opinions are my own.
